For half of the year, we’re on the same time as Eastern Standard Time in the USA. The other half of the year we’re two hours ahead… weird, huh?
Here’s an explanation… Both countries, USA and Chile, observe daylight savings time. Being on opposite sides of the equator, when the US enters into fall, Chile is entering into spring, etc.
So, when the US “falls” back an hour, Chile “springs” forward an hour. Just remember if you plan to call me, that 10:00 pm EST is now midnight Chilean time!
