We hope that God uses these updates to challenge you to do more for the cause of world missions
First Sunday school class. First service. First message. The Way Baptist Church had its inaugural service yesterday in Quito, Ecuador!
This new church plant was started by Camilo Encina, who is the first graduate of the Chile Training Center to be sent to the mission field. Camilo is out of Hope Baptist, a church that missionary Jason Kenney started in Santiago, Chile. After moving to Quito this summer, Camilo and his wife, Mariela, have been hard at work–looking for a building to rent, printing material, knocking on doors, and inviting people to church. God answered and brought visitors, families, and children to the first service! The Encinas also shared the gospel with 2 families who put their faith in Jesus. Camilo and Mariela will start discipleship lessons with several people this coming week.
We praise God for an unforgettable day of firsts at The Way Baptist Church! We eagerly expect Him to use this young church plant to change lives in Ecuador. Pray for the Encina family as they labor for this harvest!
