REACHING HAITIANS IN CHILE
If you understand geography well, you know that Haiti is nowhere near Chile! It is actually the furthest country from Chile in all of North, Central, and South America. Yet, tens of thousands of Haitians have migrated to Chile in the last decade, and many are clustered in specific neighborhoods in Santiago.
At the beginning of September, we had the opportunity to meet with two Haitian pastors serving in Santiago. Missionary Nate Beil introduced me to them. Nate is familiar with the sending church and pastor of these two Haitian pastors to Chile! As we got to know each other over a meal, we immediately found a bond of friendship in the Lord and a commitment to reach Chile with the gospel. On September 26th, I was invited to preach in the largest Haitian Baptist church in Santiago. We are praying for the opportunity to partner with these churches to help train some of their Spanish-speaking men and women for ministry. Pray God will open up more doors and guide us as we strive to reach every tongue and kindred in Chile and beyond.
ALMOST BACK TO NORMAL AT THE CHILE TRAINING CENTER
The Chilean government has been painfully slow to loosen COVID-19 related restrictions for public gatherings. As you read in our last newsletter, we have been given greater and greater freedoms over the past couple of months. After several trimesters of online classes, we resumed in-person morning classes at the Chile Training Center in September! We are praying God will continue to use us to invest in the next generation of young men and women who have given their lives to serve Him.
#GIVINGTUESDAY – NOVEMBER 30TH!
We can’t wait to share more about Connect Chile’s projects with you! Giving Tuesday will be extra special this year–-God has been moving in Chile and making His gospel known amidst these challenging days. We are continually praying for His blessings in 2022 as we make plans to move forward with a new church plant, land for Liberty Baptist, and dorm expansion for the Chile Training Center.
