Liberty Santiago 7th Anniversary
God’s grace has marked the past seven years of ministry at Liberty Baptist Church in Santiago in innumerable ways. We have seen many souls saved, lives transformed by the gospel, and men and women prepared for ministry. God has given this small church the unique privilege to send out five families who are currently leading young church plants in different areas of Chile! By God’s grace, evangelism, discipleship, and church planting have been woven into the church’s identity since its conception. A sincere love for God and others has motivated their missionary heart. This month, we should be signing papers to purchase land for the church. God has already provided the funds for the project! Once we receive the property, we will have to start construction immediately! We will need about $35,000 to build an auditorium and classrooms in the initial phase. Our son Joshua baptizes for the 1st time
One of the highlights of serving together as a family in Chile is seeing our children get involved in the ministry. Joshua has been discipling a teenager named Diego over the past couple of months. In November, Joshua had the opportunity to baptize this young man! What a joy to see Diego take this step of obedience, and what a joy to see our son serving God in this local church ordinance!
Driest Desert on Earth is Dry in Many Ways
The Atacama desert in northern Chile is the driest desert on earth. Despite its bareness, this area has the world’s largest copper deposits. The mining industry, which includes many minerals and metals in addition to copper, has given rise to several cities that have little to no gospel presence. At the beginning of November, Lori and I accompanied the Carrier family and Tracy Paver to survey two of these cities. We are praying that God will send church planters there to reach the spiritually dry cities in the driest desert on earth.
