Graduation at the Chile Baptist College

We had ten young men and women graduate from one of our diploma programs at the Chile Baptist College in December. I wish we had the opportunity to share each of their stories. Both Esteban and Benjamin are graduates in their mid-20s. Lori taught both of them in the children’s classes at our first church back in the mid-2000s! We also have one graduate from Venezuela and another from Peru. Both immigrated to Chile in the last decade. This immigration trend is seen all around our churches in Chile. Almost every congregation is made up of families from different areas around South America. We pray that in God’s timing, we will be able to continue to train men and women from Latin America and eventually send many of them all over Latin America!

Returning to Chile

Our 9-month furlough has come to an end. At the time of writing this letter, Lori and I are packing our bags and preparing the last details. God has blessed us with some wonderful opportunities to update many supporting churches, present the ministry in new partnering churches, attend and serve at our home church, teach missions at the Our Generation Training Center, and reconnect with friends and family. This has also been a time of rest and growth. Lori and I return to Chile with hearts filled with hopes and plans of how we can continue to serve more effectively in Chile.

Also, the close of this furlough brings our family into a new phase. Lori and I will be returning to Chile with Andrew (who turned 17 on January 4th). Josh will be staying back with his sister, Katie. We have one year left with Andrew, and we plan to enjoy it to the fullest! Pray for all the “kids” as they continue to study and serve God.

Prayer Requests

  1. We will host a leadership retreat in January with our team of pastors, their families, and many from the Bible college. Jonathan and Rebekah Anderson from Mexico will be joining us for the retreat.
  2. January will close with our annual teen camp. We are expecting one of the largest groups of students ever. Pray that God will work in many hearts during these important days!
  3. Continue to pray for Project Trinity 100. We are excited to give a report later this month about several special offerings that will be given for this much-needed church property.
